This entails:

- Raising awareness about holding a safety position

- Learning risk-mitigating actions

- Gaining sufficient insight into the capabilities and limitations of the equipment

- Knowing the legal provisions

Program

  • The training
  • The theoretic exam takes 20 minutes (max 30)
  • The practical exam takes about 30 minutes

Conditions of admission

  • Being at least 18 years old.
  • Being in possession of a certificate of medical fitness (a/o for safety function)

Theory
  • Knowledge of the content of the safety function

  • Knowledge of work permits and the ability to interpret and comply with them

  • Knowledge of standards and legislation concerning regulations and inspections

  • Knowledge of the preparatory work prior to the deployment of a mobile crane

  • Knowledge of the different types of mobile cranes, their components and vital safety features

  • Knowledge of maintenance, inspection and daily monitoring of the equipment

  • Knowledge of slinging materials, centre of gravity and weight of loads

  • Knowledge of rules for moving mobile cranes

  • Recognise, assess and, if necessary, remedy malfunctions

  • Know standard safety measures when using mobile cranes

  • Know the measures to be taken when finishing work

  • Know the environmental aspects

  • Know communication on construction sites

Practice
  • Be able to carry out practical preparations prior to deploying a mobile crane.

  • Be able to inspect the mobile crane.

  • Be able to attach various loads using various methods.

  • Be able to carry out hoisting work; be able to control the movements.

  • Be able to read load tables.

  • Be able to move mobile cranes.

  • Be able to carry out daily maintenance.

  • Be able to recognise malfunctions.

  • Recognise risks and take control measures

  • Be able to finish the work and store the equipment properly

  • Be able to prepare the mobile crane for transport
