Learning to operate a reach truck safely and efficiently.
This includes acquiring basic techniques to:
- Train drivers to fulfill a safety role and become efficient material handlers who can proactively report defects or malfunctions
- Prevent accidents/injuries, avoid product damage, and reduce transport-related harm
- Achieve safe and dynamic driving behavior
Program
- The training takes half a day
- The theoretic exam takes 20 minutes (max 30)
- The practical exam takes about 30 minutes
Conditions of admission
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a valid medical fitness certificate
- Exempt from the theoretical part if the candidate holds a valid IS-001 certificate

- Max 4 people per half-day course

- Individuals whose main task involves operating a reach truck under challenging conditions (high stacking, confined spaces, time pressure, intensive loading and unloading, areas with pedestrian traffic)

Understand and be able to use loading diagrams
Identify, analyze and control equipment and space hazards
Know the basic legislation for a reach truck driver
Apply the safety and traffic rules
Carry out a correct daily inspection of the reach truck, recognise and report dangerous defects
Use correct mounting and dismounting techniques and park the reach truck safely
Use the controls correctly
Connect and disconnect batteries.
Use a good driving technique
Be able to perform maneuvers: turning and cornering, forwards and backwards, passing in very narrow passages
Ability to estimate distances, depths and heights
Stacking goods in space with a maximum of 1/2 meter tolerance on turning radius, without using side-shift
Being able to stack correctly on ground locations, in racks and at height and in function of the capacity of the reach truck
Stacking with various systems such as gitterbox, baskets and individual stacking systems
Apply order and tidiness
Ability to transport long, high and bulky loads
