IS-001 - Forklift advanced - 1 day - French - Boom
Teaching how to handle a forklift truck efficiently and safely in order to:
- Move about in an industrial or warehouse environment
- Pick up loads and to move and deliver them safely and efficiently
- Drive in and out of racks and stacked blocks
- Load and unload a truck or container safely and efficiently
Program
- The training
- The theoretic exam takes 20 minutes (max 30)
- The practical exam takes about 30 minutes
Conditions of admission
- Being at least 18 years old
- Being in possession of a certificate of medical fitness (a/o for safety function)

Target audience
- People working with a forklift truck on company premises, in plants, workshops, warehouses and having to perform tasks with a certain level of difficulty, e.g. stacking at heights, driving and stacking within a limited space, under time pressure, near important installations, with intensive loading and unloading, in places with traffic of persons and/or other means of traffic
- For people working in the petrochemical industry, this exam must be taken in a recognised centre

The examinee can explain what a forklift truck is
The examinee can name the works for which a forklift truck can be used
The examinee can recognise other, similar means of transport for horizontal and vertical transport
The examinee can name auxiliary tools for horizontal and vertical transport and for handling special loads
The examinee can recognise different types of pallets and storage methods
The examinee can explain the major concepts with regard to the construction of the forklift truck
The examinee can name the different types of drive systems with their respective applications
The examinee can interpret correctly the basic regulations for using a forklift truck
The examinee can interpret correctly the safety and traffic regulations
The examinee can name the factors that may have an impact on stability
The examinee can interpret a load diagram
The examinee can name the parts of the pre-start inspection
The examinee can execute a Last-Minute Risk Analysis (LMRA)
Execute the pre-start inspection procedure
Performing a slalom, forward and in reverse
Driving through a small passage, forward and in reverse (passage: width of forklift truck + 0.10 m)
Loading and unloading of container or truck; pallets next to one another over entire width. The side shift may be used
Taking up and moving of high load
Stacking loaded pallets into racks (distance between racks = maximum length of forklift truck + 0.5 m; minimum stacking height 4 m; obstacle at the back of the rack)
Driving up and down a slope (gradient at least 10% and at least twice the length of the forklift truck)
Moving and stacking stackable boxes, boxes of pallet cage type
Moving a long load forward and in reverse through a small passage (length of load is at least twice the width of the forklift truck and the passage is maximum 80% of the length of the load)
Parking of forklift truck at designated place
Charging the traction battery, filling up the forklift truck with diesel and changing the LPG gas bottle
