IS-002 - Reactruck advanced - 3 days - French - Wetteren
Teaching how to handle a forklift truck efficiently and safely in order to:
Learning the basic techniques to:
- Train drivers to become safety officers and efficient goods handlers who can report defects/malfunctions preventively
- Prevent accidents/injuries, prevent damage to products, reduce damage caused by transport
- Achieve safe dynamic driving behaviour
Program
- The training
- The theoretic exam takes 20 minutes (max 30)
- The practical exam takes about 30 minutes
Conditions of admission
- At least 18 years old
- Being in possession of a certificate of medical fitness (a/o for safety function)
- Exempt from the theoretical part if the candidate has obtained a valid IS-001 certificate

Target audience
- Persons whose main task is to operate a reach truck, where the tasks involve a certain degree of difficulty (stacking at height, in confined spaces, under time pressure, intensive loading and unloading, in areas where people are walking around)
Results
Knowledge of the content of the safety function
Knowledge of work permits and ability to interpret and comply with them
Knowledge of safety regulations
Knowledge of important concepts related to the construction of the reach truck
Knowledge of the different types of reach trucks and their areas of application
Knowledge of how to change batteries
Knowing the elements that make up the start-up check
Knowing that there are different types of pallets and storage methods
Knowing which factors influence the load and stability of the reach truck
Understanding and being able to use load diagrams
Being able to identify, analyse and control risks specific to equipment and space
Knowing the basic legislation for a reach truck driver
Applying safety and traffic rules.
Being able to carry out daily inspections of the reach truck correctly, recognising dangerous defects and reporting them.
Applying the correct mounting and dismounting technique and parking the reach truck safely.
Being able to use the controls correctly.
Being able to connect and disconnect batteries.
Using good driving techniques
Performing manoeuvres: turning and cornering, forwards and backwards, passing through very narrow passages
Being able to estimate distances, depths and heights
Stacking goods in spaces with a maximum of 1/2 metre clearance on the turning circle, without using the side shift
Be able to stack correctly on the ground, in racks and at height, depending on the capacity of the reach truck
Stack using various systems such as pallet racks, baskets and individual stacking systems
Maintain order and tidiness
Be able to transport long, high and bulky loads
