IS-006 - Rigging Critical Loads - 2 days - French - Boom

for people with limited experience

Teaching to in an effective and safe way:

- Attach and move loads

- Move loads (communicating with the operator of a hoisting appliance)

Program

  • The training
  • The theoretic exam takes 20 minutes (max 30)
  • The practical exam takes about 30 minutes

Conditions of admission

  • Being at least 18 years old
  • Being in possession of a certificate of medical fitness (a/o for safety function)

Praktisch

  • What to bring with you:
    • Identity documents
    • Work clothes
    • Safety shoes
    • Gloves
    • Helmet

Target Audience

- People who when carrying out hoisting work on company premises in installations, workplaces or laboratories must attach and move critical loads and/or coordinate this work

The following are regarded as critical loads:

- Loads of which the centre of gravity is not known, that are voluminous in shape or dimensions and that have no defined attachment points

- Loads that must be precisely positioned and attacked

- Loads that are taken over or whereby there is interaction between crane and building or between crane and crane;

- Loads to be hoisted with a multiple of non-stationary hoisting appliances

Employees working in the (petro)chemical industry must pass this examination at an recognize training centre

Results

Theory

  • The candidate can explain what the risks are when attaching and moving loads

  • The candidate can indicate what the applicable laws and standards are

  • The candidate can explain what the aspects of the control system are according to the regulations and VCA

  • The candidate can determine the basic characteristics of the load

  • The candidate is able to calculate the forces that occur in the rigging material

  • The candidate is able to explain the basic concepts related to the load

  • The candidate can explain basic concepts and calculate loads relating to the rigging accessories

  • The candidate can indicate the legally hand and arm signals

  • The candidate can use different types of rigging equipment, components and assemblies , explaining their scope, advantages and disadvantages

  • The candidate can explain the maintenance, inspection and storage of different types of rigging material

  • The candidate can describe the different concerns of the risk analysis of rigging

Practical
  • The candidate can determine the center of gravity of a complicated structure (eg, tube construction) in order to position it correctly

  • The candidate can rig a heavy imbalanced load correctly

  • The candidate can rig a motor (without using the eyebolts) correctly, and move it on a foundation

  • The candidate can rig a long load, from horizontal to vertical stand and lay it back down in the opposite direction
